Greenwich Dome Buses

M1 Millennium Dome Service, Gas Bus at Charlton Station. This terminus was built just for this bus service. These buses were very frequent, but very lightly used.  Extra trains served Charlton Station for the dome. A fact that when booking tickets for the dome over the phone the people on the other end seemed unaware of. Visitors are told to go the Central London and come in by underground, even if they were Greenwich residents.

Another picture of the same bus as above.
Mm2008. V8 GMT is a DAF SB220 with East Lancs bodywork. The funny shapes on the roof are tanks for the natural gas which powers this bus. The low sulphur diesel version, with its lack of roof top tanks can be seen at the top of the page Seventeen DAF SB220s are in use on these services, three of which are gas powered.
