Belvedere

Stagecoach TA303. X303 NNO. Seen on route 99 at Upper Belvedere near the Eardly Arms. Belvedere recreation ground is on either side of the road. The paddling pool, sand pit on the left, the swings etc. on the right. The 99 is one of London's oldest long standing routes, still going the same way, Erith and Woolwich since 1916. (The oldest is the 24)

At one time this road was served by both red and green London Transport buses. The red bus was the 99, and green  to the Eardly Arms, was 401 (Sevenoaks) and 486 (Dartford) Both these routes also on occasion served Belvedere Station.

London Central, DML5. T455 AGP. On route 469. This road was originally an Erith Corporation tram route. When taken over by LT it became the 98 tram. In 1935 it was converted to trolleybus operation. See a 698 trolleybus at this location.   Trolleybuses were replaced in 1959 by an extension to bus routes 229 and 132. The 229 still serves this road but goes to Thamesmead instead of Woolwich.  This route travels between Bexleyheath and Woolwich by a very long journey with several detours.
