ERM Extended Routemaster

ERM 237. VLT 237. Seen here in the Strand, just past Charing Cross Station. The original extended Routemasters were the RML type which had a small bay inserted in the middle of the bus which gave an extra small window. Seating on these buses was increased by four seat down and four upstairs. The experimental modal was designated ERM, but was changed to RML on production buses.

On this bus however a large bay has been added to the middle of the bus, so it now has five full size windows on the lower deck instead of four. This increases capacity even more giving lots of room on the upper deck which is important on Sight Seeing Tours. These are operated by Arriva London Sights from Wandsworth Garage.
