Car 106 is a London County Council B class car, and was one of 100 such trams. They received top covers with open balconies from 1904 and later enclosed top decks. Twenty one were converted to snow brooms in 1926. Snowbroom car 002 was retained by London Transport. It was subsequently restored by the LCC Tramways Trust to its original open top condition as car 106.

An experimental Feltham car 331 in the Metropolitan fleet was built with centre entrance/exit door. With a centre exit this car could not be fitted with a plough carrier which limited use to overhead routes only. Car 331 became 2168 in the London Transport fleet. It made an early exit from London going to Sunderland in February 1937.
