RT 3545. MLL 855. on route 192 Plumstead Woodlands Estate - Woolwich
- Shooters Hill - Blackheath - Lewisham. Seen here in Shooters Hill Road,
which is looking very leafy in this photograph. Just a few more yards along
the road is the Sun in the Sands interchange on the A102(M)/A2/A207.

At the Sun in the Sands RT 3545 negotiates the roundabout in July 1970.
It can be seen where adjoining houses were demolished to make way for road
widening at this point.
The 192 was replaced by the 291 from Woodlands Estate to Woolwich,
and the 178 from Woolwich to Lewisham. Now cut back to seerve only as far
as Kidbrooke Station, with the 278 providing the link to Lewisham.

Almost all the way around now. The road underneath is the A102(M) which
joins the A2 at this point, better known locally as the Rochester Way Relief
Road. RT 3545 is about to join the London bound part of the A2, the next
part of Shooters Hill Road.
When making the new road many streets were cut in half, and survive
on both sides of the road. Most have been renamed but not all. One street
in Eltham (Will Crooks Gardens) was cut in half along it's length. The
flats behind the bus, known as 'Woodville' are what is left of this part
of Rochester Way.
