RT 2960. MXX 49, on Abbey Wood Garage forecourt in June 1970. I can
be seen the changes made to the lighting arrangements at various times
to comply with traffic regulations. The indicators in particular, or as
LT called them trafficators. The rear number blind is of the Routemaster
style with no intermediate destinations.

Crews take a break in Abbey Wood canteen in July 1970. LT catering
must have been quite a big concern. Not only was there tea and meals in
bus garages, but at certain terminal points and offices etc.

A nice cup of tea, the thing which really kept the buses running. Abbey
Wood canteen in July 1970. Abbey Wood was originally a tram depot opened
by the LCC in the early 1900s. It along with New Cross ran the last of
London's Trams. Now the bus garage has gone also to be replaced by housing.
I wonder if on dark windy nights the residents can hear the revving of
diesel engines and the clink of tea cups.
